folded paper art.

Simon Schubert creates two-dimensional images of buildings and architectural interiors out of folded paper. Wow.

new york high line.

The recently opened New York High Line is absolutely great! It's a park on an unused section of an abandoned elevated roadway. Wonderful.

edward's modern house.

I'm only slightly embarrassed to admit (though my husband thinks I should be much, much more embarrassed) that I saw Twilight this weekend - along with a million teenage girls.

The coolest part of the movie was the Cullen's modern house, and the great furniture in Edward's room. (Also cool? Giant artwork made from graduation caps.) I found these pictures of the home on ATLA. Lots of glass windows, surrounded by forest and rain... beautiful.

lafayette park.

This month's issue of Dwell is full of beautiful spaces (yeah, no surprise there). Especially loved the home of Keira Alexandra and Toby Barlow - part of Mies van der Rohe's Lafayette Park in Detroit. Floor-to-ceiling windows and lots of color, art, and design.

tree house.

The Loblolly House, named for the tall pines that surround it, is composed entirely of off-site fabricated elements and ready-made components. It can be assembled from the platform in less than six weeks, and also easily disassembled, allowing for reconfiguration and recycling of disused components.

We love the geometry, and the view isn't too shabby. Architects' site here.
