Happy Monday.

And my obsession with reclaimed wood grows.
Dear Hugo Franca chair, please come live in my house.

work+space.

I'm on the hunt for a perfect desk for my home - something without drawers for me to shove crap into. Either of these beauties would suffice.

Modern organic furniture with a symmetric yet chaotic contrast in materials and scale - all delicately crafted by hand.

around the studio: new chairs!

We are really excited about four big Herman Miller boxes that were delivered to the studio yesterday... SeeSaw is the proud new owner of some Embody office chairs. (We upgraded from knock-offs of these chairs, which were cute but worked a number on our bodies after sitting at the computer for hours every day).

They are a bit crazy looking, but they're amazing. It's incredible what a difference a well-designed, ergonomic office chair can make.

By far the friendliest shell chair. More vintage Scandinavian furniture here.

Beautiful work by designer Ana Kraš: the noodle side table, hive lamp, and bonbons lamp.

outdoor spaces.

My backyard is tiny, but it's a yard nonetheless. I'm hoping to make it into a nice space in the near future and have been searching for outdoor design inspiration without much luck (aside from a few favorites above found at Living Etc.). Any suggestions on where to look?

p.s. also love the back gardens Joanna posted yesterday.

Beautiful tables and other goods from Factory 20.

string shelving.

We've been trying to tackle the shelving situation in our office (again) and I keep coming back to the simplicity and flexibility of the string shelf system designed by architect Nisse Strinning in 1949. I want.

truck.

I pretty much want everything from Truck's catalog - may need to plan a trip to Japan.

piano within a table.

I recently bought an old, beautiful piano. Though it has created some space problems in our dining room, I love it anyway. Saw this piano-within-a-table design and of course it hit home... pretty neat. Functional design makes me smile (but I still prefer my 1905 mahogany upright).

masahiro minami.

Beautiful wood projects by Japanese student Masahiro Minami (love the coat rack). And this wood children's kitchen/desk/dresser he made is really awesome too.
