Zippers and ruffles all of it - I just can't get enough.
Not sure about those black shoes on the left though. A bit too bubbly or something.

Oh Gilly Hicks please open up in Fashion Square so I can do my holiday shopping in one quick swoop.

an education.

I really enjoyed watching Carey Mulligan in 'An Education' and do recommend it if your planning a trip to the movies over the long weekend. Lot's of good mid-century inspiration as well.

I love the way the t-squares, rulers, triangles & scissors look hanging up on that white wall of Alvar Aalto's design office (see more of the studio tour here).

lambswool zigzags.

What I need: a throw blanket I love as much as the Missoni Hector Throw that doesn't cost half a grand. Any ideas?

New headbands from Naomi... looks like they were sold out within a few hours. Oh well, they're still cute.

p.s. am I the only one who feels a little silly wearing a headband?

eva zeisel.

Eva Zeisel turned 103 this month. I admire her creativity, brilliance, and passion for design. After all these years, her work is still so inspiring and relevant.

The color of Rainbeau Seitzs' images fit my mood perfectly this Monday morning.

gift wrapping & happy weekend.

My favorite part of holiday presents could easily be the wrapping. Last year everything I did was so last-minute, but this year I have to be prepared because I'll be out of town the week before Christmas. I've been thinking that this year I might wrap a few gifts with some of my vintage scarves (because let's face it, I've got a few too many, and I keep buying them).

Any clever and cute wrapping ideas? You could always top off your gift with one of our JOY wood type cards.

Have a good weekend!

We brought back an old favorite design: simple, flat letterpressed 'hello there' notecards. Now available in multiple colors in our shoppe.

Looks like I am going to have to purchase myself a pair of eye glasses. I will most likely embrace my inner geek.

Visit us over at simple blue print for a special guest post for the lovely Joanna and if you're still interested in our calendar our friend over at plastolux is doing a giveaway.
