Loving the juxtaposition of old and new in Steven Volpe's work.

hannah waldron.

I am really enjoying her illustrative style - wonderful patterns and thin lines.
Maybe we can collaborate on a letterpress print together someday?

happy 3rd birthday to us.

Earlier this week we celebrated our 3rd year of being in business! Pretty crazy to think that it was three years ago when we were finishing up our last year of design school together at ASU... I'm so glad we decided to go for it and start our own studio.

Oh, and winning the Big Brain award on Saturday was a perfect birthday present. :)

(On a personal note... Lindsay and Raquel, I'm so grateful for both of you! Thanks for all you do to make SeeSaw what it is.)

Cutest honey packaging ever, and a great logo too: Babees by Ah&Oh Studio.

So much goodness and you can shop by color.

marie mees & cathérine biasino.

I would seriously love to work in this studio with these two extremely talented textile designers - such pristine perfection. View the contemporary linen Alfred collection here.
There has been some seesaw textile chit chat around the office.

paper plants.

Over the weekend I had to throw out a few plants around my house that unfortunately were too dead to save. This happens a little too often. Maybe I should give up trying to keep things alive and just surround myself with paper plants like all of these beauties made by Yuko Yamamoto.

fine little shop.

Awesome new Ohoy wallpaper and other great things found over at Fine Little Shop.

Alexander McQueen. On Gilt. Go now.

in the shop: it's a secret.

One thing I love about vintage is imagining what sorts of purposes and lives our finds have had before they came to us.

urban wonder.

Our good friend Christine (and her family & cohorts) put on this beautiful urban picnic. Everything is just right - even the adorable munchkin.

(P.S. Keep an eye on Christine's blog - a transformation is in the works!)

friday.

This photograph makes me happy. Have a lovely weekend.

grossomodo.

Grossomodo is a group of crafters in Spain that create clothing and accessories as well as textile prints. These are a few images from their blog where they document their process. I want to be friends with them.

seesaw: studio sneak peek.

[photo above: inspiration wall + the intern's desk]

Finally, a few photos of SeeSaw's office space. It's a work in progress, but we're pretty happy with it considering what we started with when we first moved in.

[we sit side by side in our space... it works for our collaborative environment, plus we all love being able to face the floor-to-ceiling windows.]

[in the conference room. we only recently decided to be brave enough to keep our vintage mannequin out for client meetings. or atleast some client meetings...]

[conference room table plus the new shelving unit we built. still working on styling the shelves.]

[the result of our crazy taping and super light grey paint on a large wall]

For those of you wondering, our letterpress workspace is separate from this studio. We're on the second floor (of a cool mid-century building we love) so our large full-size presses that weigh a couple tons would probably come crashing through the floor. Eventually we hope to be in a space where we can combine both -- and a storefront as well!

p.s. SeeSaw is in the paper today. Here's the article about us for the Big Brain awards... thank you New Times! We're honored to be among such great company.

creative couples.

I really love creative couples. You know, like the Eames' or Robin & Lucienne Day.

This month's Print magazine featured 6 designer couples, including Ellen Lupton & Abbot Miller and others. And then yesterday I came across the Creative Couples column on The Strange Attractor (via Joslyn) and found these photos of more artist/designer couples. So adorable.

hello woodtype.

I love wood type and my favorite number is 2. I can usually decide whether or not a font is 'good' after a quick look at the 2. Anyways, I want this in my home.
