sashiko.

Every once in a while I start to feel really crafty and make a list of projects I want to work on. Then reality hits... you know how it goes. Anyway, I would love to visit Purl Soho's colorful new space and make that darling sashiko mini tote or something like it. (Sashiko is a Japanese embroidery technique; there's a great tutorial from Purl on it here. And maybe I want to start embroidering everything now... adding it to my list.)

hehe, I know the impossible-list-feeling. ;) I've got plenty. Tip on how to not make you feel completely useless at completing lists: add things to the list you've already done and cross them off. ;) Feels good!

I've just been discovering sashiko too. I've always loved those super-simple Japanese geometric patterns (there's also a technique where they recreate the same patterns in tie-dye).

I just got the new Martha Stewart Sewing book (on sale at Costco!) and there's a whole section teaching you how to embroider all the different patterns. You should check it out!

Yep I know that feeling - I normally buy all the supplies I need then never find the time to actually make anything. Glad I'm not the only one..
