There's just something about this photo that I really love.

Hello, Monday. Pay a visit to our shop to see the lovely new additions.

montague.

Have you seen Montague Projects? Lovely vintage book covers + layouts.

gem.

My childhood fascination with rocks + geodes realized in jewelry form by freidasophie.

toast.

I just got back from a trip to the U.K. and one of my favorite finds was Toast - a charming clothing + home goods chain a la Anthropologie (but dare I say cuter?)

ready, set, organize.

Organization has never been so charming - vintage shoe factory storage boxes.

the mid-century modernist.

I have enjoyed Mid-Century Modernist for a while, but I'm really excited about the new look/design/functionality of their site. It's a curated place for all things mid-century, and I especially love their new gallery search function and their flickr picks.

Possibly the cutest tights in all the land.
(Summer is pretty unbearable in AZ, so we're wishing for cooler weather)

rooms filled with personality.

Great mix of "brilliance and chaos" in the home of Henry Armand Smith and Dean Slydell. I loved the quote below from the writer who chose to feature this space in her book Creative Space: Urban Homes of Artists and Innovators.

“Blank space with clean lines is an easy aesthetic choice for those lacking in creative imagination. This image is the definition of conformity — now becoming as old-fashioned as wood panels and gilt.” - Francesca Gavin

lewis fall 2010.

All these new fall collections are really getting to me. Great mood and styling in these photos from the Lewis Fall 2010 lookbook.

iittala.

Alvar Aalto's work first made me an iittala fan - I remember instantly falling in love with his classic vase when I first saw it as a child at my favorite Aunt's house in Sweden.

Although there's only one Aalto style on sale, go here and check out some awesome Iitala china + glassware.

in the shop: black + white.

A few new things in the vintage shop, including some black and white beauties (striped 50s dress and crocheted throw blanket).

Look for more new additions coming throughout this week.

Hope you have a perfectly bright weekend.

klint + kjærholm.

By far the friendliest shell chair. More vintage Scandinavian furniture here.

feeling the need for flowers.

Lately I can't get enough of flowers. I want pretty arrangements in every room of my house (and at the office too, for that matter)... maybe I need to start making a weekly trip to the farmer's market for fresh flowers like Joy does. Do any of you make a habit of bringing fresh flowers inside your home?

For locals, have you been to Camelback Flowershop? I really love that place.

lauren moffatt fall 2010.

I am really liking the prints and silhouettes on these looks from the new Lauren Moffatt collection, first seen here.

secret pocket.

Mackenzie over at Secret Pocket is one of those blog friends I'm really happy to have found. She inspires me with her endless creative projects, thrift finds, cooking, etc. (Plus she interned at Martha Stewart, which pretty much guarantees she is awesome, right?)

A while ago she sent me a few of her fabric-covered magnets, which come in a bunch of great vintage prints and are super strong. I seriously love them. Good news for us: Mackenzie is having a magnet sale right now in her shop. (I just bought a lot of them, but she is planning on listing some more).

living with vintage.

Two lessons about these interiors from Danish magazine RUM: a butterfly cabinet can really make a room, and maybe I should leave balloons floating around my house more often.

More lovely images in this article about living with vintage via Emmas.

It's pretty hot around here. I want this paint it pink swimsuit & the one of these new B.Y.O prada bags.
