it's so wrong! i mean what is a 13-year-old girl doing advertising clothes for grown women? she cannot even walk properly in these shoes (okay, very few poeple can if the heels are so extremely high). and then it's no wonder that women strive for skinny little-girl bodies and become anorexic or think they look too old or already use anti-aging cremes and such.
i watched this on nowness the other day and fell in love. i think everything about it is so beautiful.
camelopardalis: i don't think it's wrong at all. if the rodarte sisters feel inspired by a 13 year old girl then why would it be wrong for her to be their muse for the collection? i also feel like the video was very whimsical and age appropriate for elle as opposed to some other ad campaigns and editorials that young models do.
i agree with Camelopardalis. thanks for saying what you did. no 13-year olds I know dress like this, it's a little creepy. and i didn't think it was a very beautiful piece of film, yawn.
camelopardalis and gilberteswann - thanks for your comments; we can definitely see where you're coming from. the problems with how women are portrayed in media are endless, and it is really disturbing and sad.
i think in this instance, for this particular video, we agree with what rubi had to see. it's just whimsical, and yes, age appropriate for elle. plus, we love deerhunter so the music made us enjoy the video even more.
