Growing up, my FarFar (swedish grandfather) used to make beautiful trivets out of remnant slices of raw birch wood. I used to love watching him work, and hoped that one day I would inherit them from my mother.

Michael Arras' tables are a more elegant & modern solution, but they still take me back to my childhood.
