A treehouse for adults - what's not to love?

sputnik diy.

I'm still thinking about this amazing sputnik DIY project from Little Green Notebook.

fringe.

The fringe trend is going strong (thanks in large part to Confetti System). These images have me thinking of ways to incorporate some fringed paper into my weekend festivities.

OH, and did you see the fringey monogram on Oh Happy Day earlier this week? Amazing.

ringo atelier.

Ringo Atelier is a small creative workshop for children, with simple craft and project ideas to keep little ones entertained. I think art from little kids is one of the most charming things ever.

junk+tion.

I've been really into repurposing lately, and Junk+tion's got an interesting take on alternate lives of everyday objects.

diy: washi tape gift wrapping.

So many ideas for gift wrapping with washi tape - by Essimar.

color me pretty.

Hope everyone has a relaxing and colorful weekend.
Rest up - the holidays are coming!

holiday gift wrap DIY.

It seems like every year I leave my Christmas shopping until the week before... this year I'm getting started early. Then I'll have time for my very favorite part: the gift wrapping!

Kelly reminded me of this really beautiful holiday wrapping DIY from Style Me Pretty.

color gradation.

And my obsession with color continues: loving this floral garland from Studio Choo on Design*Sponge.

diy chandelier.

It's very old news but this is one of my favorite lighting DIY's ever. It's from the Brick House and based on Lindsey Adelman's make-it-yourself version of her beautiful chandelier. I would love to try this in my home.

(Convincing the husband to help me is another story, though. Last time we replaced lighting in our home may have ended up in a power outage, a gash in his thumb, and some slight electric shock. Ha.)

p.s. SeeSaw used another Brick House tutorial for the shelving in our studio

Purchase a set of universal joints and create your very own custom piece of furniture.

is•ly.

Melissa of IS•LY has been doing so many great projects lately (some great refashions, a dress for Penelope, and more). My recent favorite is this hand calligraphed quote. I'm totally having her make me one with a custom quote.

I hung out with Melissa a few times while she lived here in Arizona, and she rocks. When she came to our studio opening I was so excited to get one of her vinyl die-cuts with her business card... it's so pretty. If you don't read her blog already, you should.

sashiko.

Every once in a while I start to feel really crafty and make a list of projects I want to work on. Then reality hits... you know how it goes. Anyway, I would love to visit Purl Soho's colorful new space and make that darling sashiko mini tote or something like it. (Sashiko is a Japanese embroidery technique; there's a great tutorial from Purl on it here. And maybe I want to start embroidering everything now... adding it to my list.)

a touch of whimsy.

If I had hours to spare, I'd love to make my own version of Cheri Messerli's paper crane mobile (available for purchase here).

plastic pins.

I posted Karen Barbés' work this past week and could continue to do so for weeks to come. These bright little pins are made from reused plastic bottles.

happy love weekend.

In case you've procrastinated getting a card ready, here's a great DIY: papercut valentine by neil j rook. (And here's a funny valentine I made last year.)

Have a great weekend and a lovely Valentine's Day.

p.s. If you're local, come by and see us on Saturday at Bunky Boutique's In the Yard event. We just printed some adorable new cards that will be for sale.
