americano.

I was just in NYC and I'm sad to have missed The Americano in Chelsea. The interior, designed by MCH, is as lovely as the menu.

wanderlust.

Makes me want to pack my bags and head out on an adventure.

shadows.

I spent the long weekend on the east coast, enjoying some art at the Hirschorn and wandering around Terrain. Sometimes a short getaway does wonders for the creative spirit.

"Shadows" by Andy Warhol. See it here.

le shack.

Jerome Dreyfus shows us that a weekend hideaway needn't be lavish.

patch nyc.

Wish list at Patch NYC.

I think it might be worth a side trip to Boston on my next D.C. trip.

creative flats.

If you're planning a trip to Montreal, Creative Flats is a great source for unique and beautiful apartments available to stay in. But until then, let's just admire the beautiful spaces and wish there was a website like this for every city.

on your back.

This definitely looks nicer than what I used--I would carry this backpack even beyond classes.

smythson.

Smythson has you covered for cute traveling accessories. The plus: they're on sale!

mjolk.

Form meets functions in a hand cut and sewn laptop portfolio by Mjolk.

minä perhonen.

Whimsical prints and textiles from favorite Japanese fashion brand Minä Perhonen. If I ever make it to Japan, I'd love to step in one of their shops - they look beautiful.

bubbles.

I'd like my next French vacation to include at stay at one of the bubble houses at the museumotel.

Check out architect Pascal Hausermann's other works, too - absolutely amazing.

villa ephrussi.

The completely unpractical dreamy side of me wishes I was spending my weekend here.

löf.

It may look like I'm at work at my desk at the SeeSaw studio today, but mentally I'm here, at a simple light-filled cottage in the Stockholm archipelago, as shot by Martin Löf.

nobis.

Nest time I'm in Stockholm I'd really love to stay at the Nobis.

Cactus in Scandinavia - pretty crazy.

live the language.

If these commercials for EF Language Schools don't make you want to travel abroad, not sure what will. Beautiful filming, music, storytelling, and —my favorite part— really awesome typography. (Watch the London and Beijing versions as well).

dulce de leche.

Now this is what I want for Christmas! I am off to España for a few weeks and plan on returning extra creative. Hope the new year treats you well.
Happy weekend sweet readers.

one year.

Nathan and Katie of Eight Hour Day started a year-long journey this month, traveling across the United States in search of design and inspiration.

I'm really inspired by people who do things like this (another example: Jordan, who is moving to France!). There's nothing quite like travel and experiencing new people and places.
